Yes, as Anna said in her post (people things- bonnie's visit) birds have plans of their own. I went to Anna's expecting to find my perfect Grey. What I found was my perfect bird. I've always told Anna that the right bird would find me. As she pointed out to me last night during my visit, I've never said my perfect Grey would find me. That being said, in my head my perfect bird was a Grey. Daisy taught me different. I loved her the moment I saw her but steared clear because I was at Anna's to take home Pookie.
I spent the majority of the evening with Pookie trying to get her to warm up to me. I stressed her out and she was plucking at her chest. Anna said she was a pretty relaxed bird so this surprised me. I could kinda tell Anna wanted to tell me Pookie wasn't right for me but she either didn't want to hurt my feelings or didn't know how to tell me. So, I told Anna that I didn't think Pookie liked me. After a long conversation with Anna and weighing the pros and cons I decided to call Matthew and ask if I could bring home Daisy. Matthew, being the wonderful husband he is, said 'whatever you want babe'. So, that was it.
We had a good ride home and Daisy is sitting on her new perch. Chicken has babbled constantly since she got here. He is saying everything I've ever tried to get him to say. LOL. I really hope she brings out his vocabulary, that would make me SO happy.
And yes Larry, I need a bigger cage. :p Working on it now and will have it mid July. Chicken's old cage is about the size of the one she's been in for a very long time. Another month or so won't hurt. I'm SO excited to have Daisy here with me. She's already a joy and fitting in well. I can't wait to see what my years with her bring.
