A good friend of mine runs her business, selling handraised parrots, out of her home. She buys very young chicks from breeders around the nation, hand raises them and sells them to people on her waiting list. While the baby is still with her, it gets to socialize with it's new owners and the owners are put through a training course so that they will be more prepared once it's time to adopt. She also has gathered the very best info on cages and other products and makes them available for sale with the birds.

Anyhow, she is going out of town this week but was still handfeeding a 20 week old Citron cockatoo. She asked me to handfeed him while she is away...so! I have the most adorable, good natured little baby citron boarding with us!!! His name is Bacon, and he's a total clown. He is super well adjusted and didn't seem at all upset that he was coming to stay with me. He started talking up a storm as soon as she pulled the little guy out of his carrier. I am very, very excited about all of the cuddles I will be getting this week. I'll post a photo if Andy will hook up my camera to the laptop computer...but I can't upload pics on this thing as of yet.

Sounds wonderful-what a great privilige it is to play with someone else's baby :hart: and when they are old enough to have learned some words!

Anna,

I was looking and looking for a baby Citron when Carl found us. I had my heart set on having one, but I could not imagine my life without my little Carl....

So what is the personality like compared to our BE2? They are so fluffy and sweet at that age..... I wish I were closer so I could come over to snuggle and "help socialize" the little guy... Bacon,,,,, too funny.... Enjoy

Julie,
This little guy is really happy-go-lucky. He seems to have the confidence of the larger toos but he kind of reminds me of our BE2's in the way that they are more soft hearted and gentle. He's very, very snuggly but also very active and curious about everything. He will most certainly be the type of bird who needs the rules set out before him over and over again! What a ham though! He's been talking up a storm all morning!

They are one of 4 that make up the lesser sulfer crested group. Maybe a bit more outgoing than the little timor but still sweet. This group can be a bit hypervigilant with quick movements. They watch and alert to many things. While being cuddley, these guys can play on their own. Do keep them socialized as when they get older they could get shy. My LSC is one of my favorite birds (it's late so the others could not read this LOL)

He sounds adorable. Hope you can get some extra time with him while you have him!
