This was posted on Craigslist this morning!:dancered::dancered:

THANK YOU ALL SO SO MUCH

I have my baby boy home- the person who stole mason sold him to a car dealer in Columbia. The car dealer had him in his office and was planning to give him to his wife for Mothers day when someone forwarded him a posting from the internet (I dont know which one, because of all of the cross posting) he decided on the off chance that he had Mason to take him to the vet to be scanned for a chip, and low and behold it was my baby. They called me immediatly and I went down and got him and let me tell you I have never in my life been so happy. He is ok, a little scared and he looks like he has lost some weight but we will be going to our vet in the AM to check him out. The car dealer only paid $4000 for Mason, and that was all he would take back as reward (and we paid the vet bill) so we bought his wife a very nice necklace for mothers day with a hyacinth macaw on it :)

THANK YOU SCOTT AND WENDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its because of honest people like you that I have any faith in this world!

And for everyone else: PLEASE PLEASE be careful when purchasing animals and remember that they could easily be stolen! $4000 is VERY VERY cheap for a Hyacinth, and we are lucky that Scott realized that and it raised red flags. He paid cash for Mason but he has the man's cell phone number and it is a Charlotte area code (980).

ACCORDING TO SCOTT:
The man who sold Mason was in his late 30s- early 40s, light skinned black male, green or light colored eyes, no beard, shaved head, very articulate and polite, said he ran a petstore in Charlotte and had to make room so he was selling Mason for 75% off. he drove a newish (he said anywhere from 2005-2008) red yukon with red rims on the wheels. He was about 6ft tall or a little higher and weighed around 200 LBS, roughly. He sold Mason in a brand new dog crate with a dish of water and sunflower seeds. The dishes/crate still had the stickers on them and appear to be from a petsmart. He gave his name as "Walter Codis" (not sure of spelling on the last name)

IF ANYONE knows of someone meeting this description please contact me ASAP. We are now using the remaining reward money ($5000) to be offered for any information leading to this man's conviction.

The second recovery of stolen birds reported on this board in two weeks, what wonderful fortune. So lucky to get Mason back & in good shape, what a wonderful gentleman indeed. Hope they catch the guilty one.

It really is a victory for bird owners. I hope the jerk is caught and prosecuted to the fullest. May make other potential birdnapers think twice.

Praise God! I can't imagine what that family was going through. I'm so happy to hear that Mason is home, safe and sound.
