Imagine the look on my face when I walked in the door from work tonight and found one of my birds sitting on the back of the couch! OMG!!
First I look to see that all birds were ok and not missing any toes, then I looked at the escapees cage to see HOW!???

Can you guess WHO?

I always change food bowls of this bird through the front door of the cage & have never even opened the food door so I KNOW I didn't leave it open.

What amazes me is the only thing that was chewed was the shredder toy kept on the back of the couch, no wood trim, no curtains, no nothing except the toy. :eek:Near as I can figure, the bird must have been out all day! The food wasn't touched and the water wasn't dirty, but I also saw no poops there:confused: maybe stayed on the cage most of the day?? I don't know. All is fine, momma just had heart failure.

Any guesses?? I never would have thought HE would have even tried.

Hubby's mealy Amazon! I'm thinking NO WAY! this is the bird that would rather eat me for dinner :eats:than have me touch him. I guess he felt the need to be rescued by then, and I am still in one piece and he's back in his cage.

Brenda dear, I think you're gonna have to quit your job. You always seem to have something go crazy when you get home! LOL

I'm not sure what's going on this week, but my house has been CRAZY! I'm the one that mostly has nothing happening! What's up with this?

Wow, now that is scary, so many things could have happened. Thank goodness he was a good boy!

Lucky you, Brenda. Last time Linus broke out, it cost me a fortune to replace everything he destroyed. But even with having to take him to the vet to make sure he didn't ingest any of the coaxial cable he dissected, the worst part was discovering all of the power cords he chewed through or into. It could've turned out so badly. I 'm glad your birdie has better manners.

Another scare, it is such a fright when they get into trouble and you walk in on the results and think how did they keep from getting hurt or killed. Harry certainly gives us a scare when he re-engineers the door locks.

The only time we had an escapee was with Linus (go figure!) and unfortunately... I was home alone. Dave's entire family, including Dave, was in Spokane - at least a 1.5 hour drive away and I came home to happy Linus sitting on top of his cage. He was bouncing up and down when I came in and said, "Hi!"

My heart literally dropped!

Glad to hear everything was fine in this situation. I know what it's like coming home to that!

Oh Birdie!!!!!

I'm so glad to hear that you came home to a pile of shredder mess and a bird on the couch, and no more mess than that. Wow how scary! I'm right there with you having my heart race just listening to you tell the story..... Sure glad you keep that toy there. He is definately getting a new shredder inside his cage tomorrow, right!!!!!

I love this video! He looks SO proud and works MUCH faster once the paddle lock has fallen! Then as if making sure anyone isn't looking, let the B&G go out 1st so he looks like he is the culperate. LOL
