I want to use a natural methods for flea control on my dogs. One of the methods to use was to put eucalyptus stems and leaves around. Supposedley the fleas can't stand the smell and leave. Is the scent ok for the birds?

Cockatiels thrive on eucalyptus leaves...and I have searched to try to find a good source of fresh leaves, so I would be interested in a link if you come across a good supplier. And yes...it's safe!

I put fresh eucalyptus sprouted branches in all my cockatoos' nest boxes. They love it.

Where do you get them Don? Or are you in an area where you can grow them yourself?

I have a 30 ft.(trimmed) Euc growing right between the Rosie and Goffin flights :)

The grow like weeds in this area, many types.

Be sure you do not take any branches or leaves from close to roads, they do pick up toxins from vehicle emissions.
