Well, not fostering- birdie sitting for 2 weeks. Charlie is a 26(!!) year old cockatiel. I'm good friends with his mom she's a good lady. The first part of his life was sunflower seeds, (when she was a kid) but she's working to get him on pellets and a better diet. His wing is kinda messed up, I guess he had an accident some years ago and then started plucking, its better now- but he doesn't fly. He likes women and not men so much.
And Zoey is JEALOUS!! I had him out for just a minute to see where he would be staying (after Zoey was out ALL afternoon) and she (in her cage) was totally fluffed up, strutting, yelling 'Zoey BIRD! Zoey BIRD!' She was not a happy cockatoo. Then after I put him away she did her little baby bird cry (like when she would beg for her baby food)- she hasn't done it in a while. She was majorly put out by him and was doing everything she knew how to get my attention. Spoiled only child syndrome!

let me give yhou a hint about getting Charlie on pellets..for a tiel it is not totally necessary..try half and half..as long as they have a good supply of fresh veggies rice and pasta etc pellets are not necessary...sam is only on seeds and she is fine because she eats all that other good stuff..aftger all, he made it 26 years so far...he sounds very cute though and I commend you for helping out sounds like you have a housefull and Zoey is jealous lol that is hilarious...

Stella gets in those moods but as long as she is always 1st, she's not quite as bad

When I had my Cockatiel Coco(RIP) the way I was able to get her to eat pellets was by offering her parakeet size pellets it helped. Wow a 26 year old Cockatiel that's a big step.:yeah:

So jealousy has been rearing its pink head at your house?

 Lol, that was too cute! Yes it has. Today they were looking at each other and it was a mini-standoff. Zoey was all fluffed and was hissing (she hisses at the drop of a hat) and little Charlie puffed himself up and hissed back! (Obviously not out together, EVER). I'm trying to make sure she doesn't bother the old timer too much. He doesn't seem to want to get out and explore, which is fine by Zoey. On the bright side, Zoey is very lovely dovey with me today! Except when I was on the phone- she hissed at it! She's getting a *tiny* bit possessive of me. But since I live alone and don't really have people visit (and none of the people that visit are really bird people) its hard to socialize her. Any ideas?
