Just a couple of thoughts on care of a bite wound. Clean with soap and water. Initially use hydrogen peroxide which will foam up and clear out dirty objects such as saliva. Rinse some more. Many bite wounds are punctures. this type of wound can heal from top first. Not good as it can trap bacteria inside the wound. A sealed wound is the perfect breeding ground for tetanus...make sure your tetanus shot is up to date. PrepH has been known to reduce swelling and minimizing the pain of a bite (yes, it really works...will not say how I know so well LOL) See your doctor if there is any problem.

I would not advise using hydrogen peroxide on a puncture. it has been know to drive the infectious bacteria deeper into the wound, it is ok for shallow or scrape type injuries. Good ol soap & warm water is the safest on punctures. This direct from the Veterinarians mouth. to my fingers. Keeping the injured bird warm & quiet is also good medicine. For the injured human apply the correct amount of sympathy & most important don't laugh no matter how funny it looked when they got bitten.
