for Sydney. I want to get the largest one I can fit in my car, what size would be best? I have a Corolla. I am looking at this style of a crate...

I'm thinking collapsable because I could set it up in the car and I could get one a tad larger then than what would fit through the door itself.

Thats what I used when I picked up AngelBaby, I put a perch in it and she was perfectly happy. I used the smallest size and she had plenty of room. I know Sydney is a larger bird but the doggy crates are quite spacious.

Brenda,
When we travel with the birds we use this exact cage for the larger birds. Major pluss is that it has a door on the lenght width and top. But this also makes placement of perches difficult. We prefer to use comfy perches while traveling, it gives them more to grip in to, but have to use a couple wood ones to help hold the comfy perches in place and not roll around.
Next we got the plastic locking crocks so that we could easily change food and water. The only major drawback is the fact that it does not have a large bottom grate. We also make sure to put spare linnen over the entire back seat (cant help the one holding the cage in place though), top to bottom. So you are protected from flying food/stuff, and beaks that want to chew through seatbelts.
You may want to come prepared with toys that will not make too much noise on the road like shredders, because bells & rattles tend to get on ones nerves after say 14 hours.... phewww.....
Can't wait till July!!!!!
What kind of wire is that? I have forgotten what it is called, but it has zinc in it. You have to wash it good with vinegar, or leave it outside to age. Most breeders use that kind of wire, but the name of it escapes me. Don will know and he would best tell you how to clean it.

That is what I used to take Chicken to NM. We decided to stop using his old cage as a travel cage because the paint was peeling so bad. I think the one we got is by Bargin Hound. I would make sure to clean it down really well. Sydney doesn't chew on bars that I know of so she should be okay.
