Well, I have had much smoother trips but we made it to WV to pick up Paulie and Peanut (Senegals) Paulie was a demon bird but Cheryl has done a wonderful job with him, I haven't got him out of the cage yet, but he "holds hands" through the bars, lets me scritch him and rolls over on his side against the bars so I can stroke his back. Takes treats from my fingers very gently. I was told he's a man hater, but this morning when hubby got up and walked by his cage Paulie said good morning and let him scritch and hold hands with him, so he is settling in good. He will even tell you "I have issues" I am going to try and get him out of his cage.

Peanut is splay legged but crawls all over the cage, she is sweet and cuddly and wants to be out all the time.

The trip to Charleston should have taken 4 1/2 - 5 hours, instead thanks to 3 different road work areas, one in each state, we spent 4 total hours sitting on the highway. It took 10 hours to make the trip one way. But it was worth it to bring home these two and to make Cheryl's mind easier.

Anyway, here are my new flock members:

What a lovely set of almost twins. I have a special soft spot for the splay legged birds as our little blue parakeet Splitz has the same splayed legs. He does very well also. Glad you got them home safe & sorry your journey was difficult.

They are adorable.

A friend has two sun conures. They are caged together. I think both are from the same clutch. Anyway, one of them doesn't have any feet, but you would never know it. The owner has outfitted the cage with little ramps, and everything touches something else so she doesn't have any trouble moving around anywhere she wants to go.

Yeah, wasn't trying to stop the blood so much as my darn finger was numb for about an hour afterwards!! And I was told that was a warning bite, if he's really mad at you he can do real damage!
