Well, I have one heathern anyway. I always called the macaws "heatherns" because they are so much trouble compared to my sweet zon.
Enter Leroy, 21 year old re-homed YNA. Now the zons stay in jail because they will not stay where I put them.
Now that Blusher (RFM) has learned to land, she spends more time in jail, just like a heathern! But I have to confess, even as a heathern she is sweet. I'm cleaning cages and don't feel too well, so I just stopped and lay on the floor for a while. Blusher flew over, landed on my butt, and greeted me with, "Hi, Sugarmama!" And she has the sweetest voice.
Her launch is also funny. She has a circular swing with four cotton rope hanging off it with big knots of thick cotton hanging down. She crawls down to the knot, hangs by one talon, and flaps until she gets in "the correct position." Then she lets go and flies, usually to me.
