I want to buy some perches for Zoey, but its hard to find the large Natural ones (like real wood) perches that are 4 foot long. I found this site, and he says he'll do it, what do you think? I'm scared of just getting ANY tree that grows naturally outside. (I mean, even ones on the safe list could have pesticides). So I do want to get her a real wood one to have, but this is the only one I found that's not manzanita (she already has one of those). Opinions? http://www.eucproducts.com/index.html

Hi! We have several perches for Chicken as well. One thing that works very well is getting a branch off the tree. It doesn't have to be 4ft. Just cut one of the ends off flat and get a double ended screw, some washers and a bolt. Then you can attach it to one side of the cage. Very inexpensive and the larger screws and bolts will hold up an M2. I can snap some pics if you'd like to see. I'll try to find the list of safe trees real quick.

I started making my own perches for that very reason. Who knows where any of it really comes from, or what it has been exposed to.
This site has great instructions on how to make your own perches. Thankfully where I live, I know the trees are safe from pesticides. http://www.mdvaden.com/bird_perches.shtml
Also be sure to use stainless steel hardware if you make your own.
