Linus and Theo continue to "enjoy each other's company". One minute they're preening buddies, and the next one or the other of them is positioning themselves for other activities. I am pretty certain that no youngsters can result from their naughty behavior (correct me if I'm wrong...PLEASE!), but I limit their time together and monitor them closely because they are both so hormonal and it just perpetuates the "mood". AND it is no fun peeling them apart, I haven't been bitten (yet) but my real concern is of course that Linus will take the coitus interuptus out on Theo.

I needed to take my cat to the vet today and brought Linus in for a nail trim. Same old thing, the minute he gets there his poops turn to water. Thing is they haven't gotten better. There is fecal matter in there, but the rest is clear. I don't think he's sick, but I will watch his poop closely to be sure. Can this be a result of the time of year combined with the fact that this year there's a female around? He doesn't usually get this worked up. My teils are the springtime problem usually. Has anyone experienced this??

Linus is a U2 and Theo is a G2, right? I havent heard of a hybrid too of that type of pairing, but I do believe that yes, they could potentially breed. there are so many 'Too hybrids that I cant see how it wouldnt be possible.

Honestly, knowing how Toos can be, I dont think I would allow the interaction with their size differences. And with the risks involved with laying eggs... I would definitely do everything you can to prevent her from wanting to start laying.

I tend to notice poops like that when the bird is stressed. Did it start just at the vet visit? Good to keep an eye on it for sure.

It is possible for a hybrid to be produced.

Here is an unusual example, but it can happen.

PS: keep an eye on the poops . It is probably a stress issue but you should definitely watch for signs of illness.

You are right to have concerns in preventing avoid any possible injury due to a flight response from the male if they are startled or she declines his advances, this could definitely be an opening for injury to the female. He is looking for a mate & it is a case of love the one you're with. On the loose droppings-look to see if this continues or is due to the Vet. visit.

I don't even know what to say. That is just freaky. Needless to say, I don't want that to happen. They, however, are BOTH equally interested in making this happen. They are starting to get along (in the ways I want them to get along), but it always results in them trying.
I went to grab the phone the other day and came back to find them in what looked to me to be "in the process". Theo is not resisting him in any way, and is in fact sometimes the instigator. I still have to be at arms length when they are together just for safety reasons and now also this.

Linus's poops, btw, are back to normal. Does breeding season and NOT being allowed to 'get the job done' when there's a potential mate available bring on stress and anger issues? Lord knows it does in humans.
