You look at droppings everyday. Did you know this is one of the 1st signs to know your parrot is getting sick?
Using newspaper as a cage lining you can monitor your birds droppings, if you use corncob bedding it’s hard to see and can harbor bacteria that can make your bird sick.
You may see pretty green, or red, maybe even orange or blue poop after they eat pellets or blue berries, or even all liquid after they’ve had a drink or taken a shower.
Do you look at your birds vent to see what “normal” looks like? Would you know if it was abnormal? I have a weekly routine that I look my birds over to see if there are any lumps, bumps or abnormalities that should be a concern. I look at ears, and have them open WIDE so I can see in their throat.
